ความ คุ้มค่าของ KVM Over-IP

Remote access from anywhere

ผู้ดูแลระบบสามารถ เข้าใช้งาน เพื่อดูแลแก้ไขปัญหาในระบบคอมพิวเตอร์-เซอฟเวอร์ที่มีข้อมูลสำคัญ ด้วยการ remote access ผ่านเครือข่ายจากนอกสถานที่ เช่น ระหว่างตึกอาคารหลายชั้น สำนักงานต่างสาขาซึ่งผู้ใช้ทั่วไปไม่สามารถแก้ปัญหาเองได้

การนำ KVM Over IP (Hardware Remote Access) เข้ามาใช้งาน จึงช่วยแก้ปัญหาและข้อจำกัด ต่าง ๆ ได้ ดังนี้

การใช้งาน

  • จำแค่ IP ของ KVM Over IP เท่านั้น ก็สามารถควบคุมเซิร์ฟเวอร์ที่ต่ออยู่ ได้ทุกเครื่อง
  • ควบคุมดูแลเซิร์ฟเวอร์ต่าง Platform ได้ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น PC, Mac, Sun และ Serial (ขึ้นอยู่กับรุ่นของ KVM
  • เข้าใช้งานเซิร์ฟเวอร์ได้ตั้งแต่ระดับ BIOS
  • หากเซิร์ฟเวอร์แฮงค์ ผู้ดูแลก็ยังคง remote เข้าไปตรวจสอบ error message ต่าง ๆ ที่ปรากฏบนหน้าจอเซิร์ฟเวอร์ได้ จึงแก้ปัญหาได้อย่างตรงจุด และรวดเร็ว
  • ตั้งค่า Config การใช้งาน  เฉพาะ KVM Over IP   จึงไม่ต้องเสียเวลาในการติดตั้งซอฟท์แวร์ หรือ Config เซิร์ฟเวอร์ทีละเครื่อง
  • KVM Over IP จะมีระบบรักษาความปลอดภัย ให้เลือกใช้มากมาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็น
    - การเข้ารหัสข้อมูล หลากหลายรูปแบบ
    - กรอง IP/Mac Addess ของผู้ใช้งาน
    - ซ่อน IP ป้องกันการ Ping/Scan หา KVM Over IP
    - ปิดการเข้าถึงผ่าน Browser ได้

การบริหารจัดการ

  • ต้องแจ้งเตือนผ่านทางอีเมล์ได้ เมื่อมีการเข้าใช้งานเซิร์ฟเวอร์ (เฉพาะบางรุ่น)
  • สามารถตั้งค่าให้ตรวจสอบสิทธิ์การใช้งาน KVM Over IP ได้จาก Authentication Server ที่มีอยู่แล้วได้ เช่น Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, LDAPs, Radius
  • สามารถเก็บ Log Event การใช้งาน KVM Over IP ได้ด้วยซอฟท์แวร์ Log Server ที่แถมมาให้ หรือ (Syslog Server เฉพาะบางรุ่น) จึงบริหารจัดการ log ได้จากศูนย์กลาง
  • ไม่ต้องลงซอฟท์แวร์ใด ๆ บนเซิร์ฟเวอร์ิทิ้งไว้ จึงไม่เปลืองเมมโมรี่ของเซิร์ฟเวอร์

นอกจากนั้น KVM Over IP ยังรองรับการขยายตัวของ เซิร์ฟเวอร์ที่เพิ่มขึ้นได้อย่างอิสระ

เมื่อมีจำนวนคอมพิวเตอร์เซิร์ฟเวอร์เพิ่มขึ้น สามารถต่อพ่วง (cascade/daisy-chain) กับ KVM switch ตัวเดิม โดยใช้ IP KVM switch หลักตัวเดียว เป็นศูนย์กลางในการ access ควบคุมดูแลคอมพิวเตอร์เซิร์ฟเวอร์ทุกเครื่องในองค์กรได้อีกด้วย
